I just wanted to share a lovely photograph, of an ex-battery hen who has fallen on her feet and is loved by her new family. Many thanks to V Tocher for use of this photo - by the way, the hen is aptly titled Naked (because she is sort of) Dave (because owner's partner has always wanted a pet called Dave!).

Oh dear little hen, you will be so pretty very soon... Though you may look a bit 'prickly' for a while once those quills start coming through! I wish you a good retirement. :o)
Aww, what a dear little hen...it would be great to see a follow-up picture of how she's doing now.
